What you need to know

  • Turtle Beach just revealed a new Atlas headset and audio enhancer for PC.
  • The Elite Atlas Aero headset gives you a panoramic 3D experience for $150.
  • The Atlas Edge audio enhancer upgrades any passive headset for $30.
  • You can preorder both from Turtle Beach's website.

Turtle Beach is a popular gaming accessory brand that is known for its headphones. Today, the company revealed two new products for Gamescom 2019 which takes place next week in Germany. The Atlas line is considered to be one of the best out there, and the Elite Atlas Aero Wireless PC Headset and the Atlas Edge PC Audio Enhancer should fit right in.

The wireless Elite Atlas Aero features Turtle Beach Control Studio with Waves Nx audio technology. Nx transforms stereo and surround sound into a panoramic 3D experience. It's quite cool if you haven't heard it before. The headset also contains Turtle Beach's exclusive Superhuman Hearing technology which probably gives players a competitive advantage. You can hear enemies creeping up behind you that much easier. Powerful 50 mm speakers and a high-sensitivity microphone deliver crisp sound and chat. Unlike some other headsets on the market, this one's made out of metal and features Turtle Beach's ProSpecs Glasses Relief system. Best of all, the battery lasts 30 hours on a single charge.

The Atlas Edge is a PC Audio Enhancer that plugs into any available USB port. According to Turtle Beach, this gives any wired headset an instant, customizable audio advantage, and also features Waves Nx and Maxx, Superhuman Hearing, and more. The Atlas Edge's standard 3.5 mm headphone jack connects with any passive wired gaming headset. Both can be preordered through select retailers today. The Elite Atlas Aero comes in at $150, while the Atlas Edge only costs $30. Both launch in late September.

According to Turtle Beach's head, Juergen Stark, the Elite Atlas Aero "delivers an overall incredible audio experience, and when it launches we believe it will be the best wireless PC gaming headset on the market, period." Stark added that his team was working with the Grammy-winning Waves team and "integrating their Nx audio which takes surround sound to entirely new levels by giving gamers full 3D audio in every game."

If you want to purchase the items, head over to Turtle Beach right now. You can preorder the Elite Atlas Aero here and the Atlas Edge here. While the products are listed on Amazon, it's unclear when they'll be available through the retailer.
