A few months ago, Spyro Reignited Trilogy was announced for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While it's unfortunate that not everyone can play the game at the same time, it might end up on other devices next year. Nevertheless, it's an absolutely wonderful experience on Xbox One X.

The game is currently available for purchase physically and digitally through retailers like Amazon and the Xbox Store. The game costs $39.99, and doesn't feature any additional content like a season pass. The package includes Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Each game seems longer than the last, and its bosses are even more difficult.

According to Activision and Toys for Bob, Spyro Reignited Trilogy runs at 1440p resolution on both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. The image quality isn't as crisp as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which achieves native 4K resolution on Microsoft's machine, but it's a significant step up above base hardware.

In our review, we said, "Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an excellent remake of the originals. It's a lot of fun to play and looks stunning. Unfortunately, the lack of a 60 FPS option, even on the Xbox One X, and the awkward camera controls in some levels detract from the experience. Despite these issues, the remake pays homage to some of the best platformers ever created, and it's evident that developer Toys for Bob spent many years crafting this package. It's a labor of love and that shines above all else."
